PHOTO ID GUIDELINES
NO LEAGUE ID, NO GAME:
As per earlier communications, the League will be implementing the "No league id, no game" rule as of June 5/6 weekend. Umpires will be strictly instructed to not allow any exceptions except one as follows. The only exception will be for a last minute NEW registration. if the division coordinator has activated a player prior to the game, AND the card could not be prepared for this player. In this case, the division coordinator or a Board member will send an email to the team/club/player stating the specific game for that specific weekend for which this email will work as a "pass letter" to be handed to the umpire, and an alternate photo id for the player will be acceptable. A PHOTO ID HAS TO BE SHOWN IN LIEU OF THE LEAGUE ID CARD TO PLAY. The email will be very specific. A sample email, for example, may look like this:
"This is to inform the umpire to allow John Doe, player id 9999, from Acme Cricket Club, to play game number 999 against Apex Sports Club at the ABCD ground on Sunday, May 19, 1999. His id card could not be prepared in time for this particular game. Please verify an alternate photo id for this player and if appropriate, allow him to play this game."
This is a one-time pass and the player should have an id card made before the next game.
STATS ENTRY:
Also, the same weekend on (June 5/6, 2010), the league will enforce the negative points rule. So stats have to be entered online as of end-of-day June 11, 2010 for all games played by the team prior to that date, else negative points for each incomplete game (-5 points) will be applied. If there is any issue regarding inability to update the score within the stipulated time-frame, the coordinator has to know this within 48 hours of the completion of the game via a written communication (email) informing him of why the scores cannot be updated. He can then make alternate arrangements to ensure the stats are updated correctly.
IMPORTANT:
If a player is already registered in BEDCL and has an id card, please do not re-register him. Such players have to be transferred, and there are guidelines to do the same.
The ID card is BEDCL property. The umpire or any other current Board member has the right to demand and retain it in case of any disputes.
Thank you for your cooperation.
